Shackletons Strengthens Management Team Credentials

Shackletons, the UK’s leading provider of specialist furniture for the care home sector strengthens its management team as Assistant Operations Manager, Tony Render, is awarded an ILM First Line Management Certificate, the nationally recognised management qualification.

Shackletons operates advanced lean manufacturing techniques at its factory in West Yorkshire and first line managers need strong organisational and decision making skills. Tony, who joined Shackletons 17 years ago as an upholsterer, is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to continuous professional development.

“It’s vital for businesses to invest in their people and recognise the talents within their team” says operations manager, Peter Martin, “learning is an important part of developing staff to handle the challenges of modern manufacturing”.

Commenting on his ADB Global award for work based achievements Tony said, “I’m delighted with the award. The training helped me to increase my knowledge and decision making skills, that I now apply at work every day”.
