Creating a home where residents can thrive
Opened in October 2025, Grace Court Care Home is a new 58-bed luxury care home on Canvey Island, part of the Sanders Living portfolio. With design support by Laura Baigent of 3 over 5 design, the home was envisioned as a warm and uplifting environment where residents can live comfortably and independently, supported by thoughtful design and beautifully crafted interiors.
From elegant lounges and dining rooms to a dedicated dementia care area, Grace Court combines comfort, functionality and timeless design. Every space has been carefully curated to feel like home — inviting, secure and enriching for residents, families and staff alike.
Collaboration from concept to completion
Working closely with the Sanders Living team and 3 over 5 design, Shackletons provided a complete interior furniture solution — from concept sketches through to on-site installation. Our role included:
- Bespoke cabinetry design for all bedrooms, crafted by our skilled team in West Yorkshire.
- Upholstered lounge, dining furniture and occasional furniture tailored to suit each space’s function and aesthetic.
- Curtains, blinds and soft furnishings supplied and installed throughout, coordinating perfectly with the designer’s fabric scheme.
The result is a beautifully cohesive interior scheme that enhances wellbeing and reflects the care home’s premium character.
Furniture highlights
- Bedrooms – Bespoke bedroom cabinetry designed for functionality and elegance with Valencia High Back Chairs and made-to-measure curtains across all 58 en-suite rooms.
- Reception – Valls Wing Back Chairs as statement pieces paired with Paxton Sideboards and Linford Console Tables.
- Dining Rooms & Café – Chatham and Westbourne Dining Armchairs paired with Hamilton Dining Tables for relaxed, elegant dining.
- Cinema Room – Orto High and Low Back Chairs providing comfort and support for movie-night gatherings.
- Dayrooms & Lounges – A combination of Chairs and Sofas from the Orto, Wentworth and Chichester collections, with additional occasional pieces from the Fenton, Palma and Lubeck collections.

Our partnership with Sanders Living and 3 over 5 design exemplifies the end-to-end service that defines Shackletons. From bespoke design and manufacturing in West Yorkshire to professional installation on site in Essex, every element was managed with care, precision and collaboration.
The finished result is a home that feels both luxurious and personal — a welcoming space where design, craftsmanship and comfort come together to support exceptional living.
