Shackletons at the Healthcare Design Awards 2026
Shackletons was proud to support the Healthcare Design Awards 2026, sponsoring and presenting the award for Best Interior Design – Care Home at this year’s ceremony. Celebrating excellence in healthcare design sits at the heart of what we do, and this partnership reflects our long-standing commitment to creating healthcare and senior living interiors that truly support the people who use them.
For over 65 years, Shackletons has worked closely with care providers, designers, specifiers and construction partners to design and craft furniture that balances comfort, quality, and thoughtful design. Sponsoring this award aligns with our values of partnership, craftsmanship and care, recognising interiors that are welcoming, homely and fit for purpose for both residents and staff.
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists at the Healthcare Design Awards 2026.
Showcasing New Design: The Willis Sofa
As part of the awards, we were delighted to showcase the Willis, our brand-new three-seater sofa, unveiled on stage for the first time. Designed as an arrival sofa for luxury care homes, the Willis forms part of a wider collection of new design-led lounge seating pieces launching in 2026.

The design balances current interior trends with Shackletons’ deep understanding of care environments. Fluted detailing adds texture and visual interest, paired with a low-back and softly curved arms to create a welcoming, relaxed silhouette. A fixed spring back enhances comfort and support, and elegant tailored piping to the arms, seat, and front seat platform adds a refined finishing touch.
Colour, Comfort and Contemporary Care
For the awards, the Willis was upholstered in Panaz Riva Zinc, a nod to the Pantone Colour of the Year 2026, Cloud Dancer. This soft, understated neutral fabric reflects a growing preference for calm, comforting palettes within healthcare interiors, supporting wellbeing while maintaining a sense of contemporary elegance.
Looking Ahead
The Willis sofa will be launched as part of Shackletons’ upholstered lounge seating collection in the spring, alongside a number of new pieces designed specifically for care and senior living environments.
