What:

Drawing Room Interiors specified our upholstered chairs, occasional furniture and bespoke cabinetry for the refurbishment of a 24 bed care home, set in a picturesque village in the heart of Buckinghamshire.

Purpose:

To create a boutique country style care home, Drawing Room Interiors set out to transform an existing care home into a contemporary new living space.

Diana Celella presented The Freemantle Trust with a unique design solution, creating something totally bespoke for the residents and staff. “We designed two completely different colour schemes for each area and presented them to the residents, staff and relatives. Then voting took place for the scheme they preferred which created an engaging dialogue with the residents and staff to ensure they felt part of the project”.

Handmade in England

Our bespoke capabilities enable us to realise the concepts created by interior designers and specifiers. We worked together with Drawing Room Interiors to produce various pieces of bespoke cabinetry such as a TV unit in the ground floor lounge and dining room.

Diana Celella, director of Drawing Room Interiors, had this to say about Mulberry Court “For this project we needed to select not only a company with quality products to help create the boutique feel, but also a company with bespoke cabinetry capabilities. For this reason, we selected Shackletons. The experience of working with them was excellent – from start to finish”.

“The original reception area was a compromised space with an impractical layout to welcome visitors and guests. We reconfigured the space to open up the area and created a welcoming bespoke coffee bar and seating area. We also commissioned a bespoke fabric featuring a mulberry motif to echo the name of the home”.

A former bedroom was converted into a quiet lounge, which gave residents an alternative, peaceful place to sit.

Final Thoughts:

“The experience of working with Shackletons was excellent from start to finish. We were kept informed at every stage of the process, which was especially important as this refurbishment took place over the COVID-19 lockdown. The fit out went very well, the furniture is of excellent quality and we are thrilled with the bespoke cabinetry.” Diana Celella director of Drawing Room Interiors.
