Established in 1959, Shackletons is more than a care home furniture manufacturer – we are a family. Today, we remain family-owned, with over 100 people across our Dewsbury upholstery factory and cabinetry factory in Leeds.
For over 65 years, we have handcrafted furniture for care homes and senior-living environments.
Many of our skilled craftspeople have been with us for over 20 years, combining time-honoured techniques with modern manufacturing expertise.

With sustainability in mind, we are committed to making responsible choices and reducing our environmental impact.
From sourcing timber from responsibly managed forests to reusing and recycling protective delivery packaging, we consider every stage of our process.
We minimise waste by specifying fabric quantities precisely for each chair and sofa, while timber offcuts are repurposed to help heat our factory.

Every piece of Shackletons furniture is handmade in England using carefully selected, high-quality materials.
At our Dewsbury factory, skilled craftspeople handmake upholstered chairs and sofas in fabrics specified by each customer.
At our cabinetry factory in Leeds, we manufacture bedroom, dining and occasional furniture alongside bespoke cabinetry for care homes and senior living environments.
We needed a company who could supply high quality products along with bespoke cabinetry capabilities. For this reason, we selected Shackletons. The experience of working with them from start to finish was excellent.
