Project to provide complete furniture and furnishings package.

Where:
Croft House Care Home, Wilton, Somerset.

What:
The brief was to fulfil a turn-key project for an established customer that included the provision of all furniture and furnishings for newly built care home.

Purpose:
To provide a relaxing environment for residents in all areas of the care home.

Creating Comfort:
The residents of the newly opened Croft House Care Home in Somerset can enjoy an unrivalled standard of comfort thanks to a stylish new range of furniture supplied by Shackletons.

Nestled at the foot of the Quantock Hills in Wilton, Somerset, the 67-bed Croft House is the newest addition to Somerset Care Group’s portfolio of care homes. The not-for-profit organization is one of the largest care companies in the UK with 27 care homes in Somerset and Gloucester and four on the Isle of Wight.

Croft House provides residential and Dementia care for its residents and offers specialized care in its PETALS (Person Centered, Empowerment, Trust, Activities, Life History, Stimulation) Unit.

Shackletons has enjoyed a long relationship with Somerset Care Group, as the nominated supplier of furniture and furnishings for its other care homes, and once again the Group turned to Shackletons to completely furnish Croft House in both its private and public areas. This includes seating in lounges and social gathering areas, dining room furniture, bedroom and occasional cabinets, as well as curtains, blinds and bedding.

The Yorkshire furniture company, which has been creating comfort for more than 50 years, designed each area individually to offer a mix of modern and traditional settings for the home’s residents.
Key factors for consideration included functionality, practicality and aesthetics. The project, which was overseen by Shackletons’ Regional Sales Manager, Sara Jane Farrow, and designed in conjunction with Somerset Care Group, was delivered on time and within a strict budget.

Commenting on the successful completion of the project, Sara Jane Farrow, said, “The challenge was to create something visually appealing, practically designed, durable and easy to clean whilst taking into consideration the special needs of the residents. The furniture looks the part and withstands the vigours of everyday use. We’ve created a comfortable environment for residents, whether they are reading, relaxing, or reliving memories with their friends and family.”

What’s more, Shackletons, as part of its continued commitment to delivering added value to its products and services, has donated a Proventec Steam Cleaner to Croft House. The product provides advanced infection protection and control. Somerset Care Group is a keen advocate of steam cleaning and currently uses the equipment in its other homes.
