Peregrine House, Whitby, Yorkshire.
The brief required Shackletons to provide bespoke seating and furnishing solutions that would embrace the home's structural re-configuration.
To create an open and modern facility that would enable residents to take advantage of lighter and airier communal environments.
Shackletons were tasked with refurbishing the 35 bed residential home's new communal lounge diner extension with lounging and dining chairs, occasional tables and curtains for the finishing touches.
The newly refurbished property underwent an overhaul to achieve an open and modern facility that would enable residents to take advantage of lighter and airier communal environments where relaxing and socialising could be accessed with ease.
“A plan to transform our care home needed a look to complement the transformation we had achieved. We were adamant we wanted the old style Queen Ann chairs out and a contemporary style in. Shackletons listened, provided fabulous design suggestions, and helped us visualise the final look.
"In short we had the look of a care home and ended up with the look of a quality hotel. Residents and their families have been overjoyed with the results.” Says Kevin O’Sullivan Managing Director of Peregrine House.
Peregrine House have a commitment to provide a high level of care in a caring environment that is luxurious, clean and comfortable taking in its wonderful setting close to the sea in Whitby. With the help of Shackletons the residential home now provides residents with more privacy, comfort and overall dignity through the use of good quality handcrafted design.
Kevin continues: “You’re never sure how such a project will unfold or indeed what the finished product will look like. We’re thrilled to say it has been a massively positive experience and the best bit – our residents haven’t stopped complimenting the transformation.
